I would have stepped over him. But then again I am not one of those nice Ultra people like you are; ) <br /><br />I really enjoyed your dissection of the race. I think you have it all pretty much figured out. The one thing I noticed is when you said you bonked right after looking at your watch. I have had the same reaction. I am fighting along and I make the mistake of looking at my watch and the emotional reaction to seeing what I already know is true just shuts me and my muscles down. <br /><br />One other thing is that some very good ultrarunners I know base their workouts on time and not distance so what you said about the time on your legs during your long runs not being enough makes sense. So on a bad day you may run slower and not quite as far as prescribed but on a good day do the opposite.<br /><br />Congrats on your 2 new PR's. I am assuming you PR'd in the Half as well!
