Hey Lakewood,

You should retitle your post...

"My 2009 Milestone (and 2008 Recap)...and "Yes, I am crazy!"

I can't imagine running 100 miles at one time! If my math is right.. that would be like running for 16.6 hours straight if you ran a 10 min mile pace! So you would have to start at like 5 am and run till about 9:30 at night! WOW!

Well just writing about it though sort of peaks my curiousity if I could actually do it! Though first I want to run a marathon. I am doing (2) 1/2 marathons on consecutive weekends this spring, so maybe a full marathon in the fall.

Anyhoo...good luck with the 100 miler. I will definetly be waiting to see how it goes! BTW...how do you go about training for that!

Peace,
Shepherd

Hey Shepherd,

For the 50 miler, it works out to be about 12 hours, so for the 100 I'll be lucky to finish in 24. There is, I believe, a 30 hour limit. This of course means running/jogging/walking during the night with several headlamps.

The race starts at 4 am and goes until 10 am the following day....so it should be interesting.

as far as training. Well, im following my marathon schedule now until my race in mid-may. from there, I'll continue weekly running and step up to an easy 50 miler in late June. Then, Run the 100 miler in July. There's a very good chance I won't finish, but it will still be an adventure!
